Greg Stanton is the incumbent U.S. Representative for Arizona's 4th Congressional District, first elected in 2018 representing the former 9th district and the 4th district since 2023. He previously served as Mayor of Phoenix from 2012 to 2018 and on the Phoenix City Council for nine years. Stanton serves on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, the Foreign Affairs Committee, and the Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party, and he co-founded the bipartisan Extreme Heat Caucus.

Kai Newkirk is a progressive activist and organizer challenging incumbent Greg Stanton in the Democratic primary. He previously led the group 'For All' and was a campaign director for Democracy Spring, advocating for campaign finance reform and filibuster elimination. Newkirk has pledged not to accept corporate PAC money and is running on a platform focused on affordability, abolishing ICE, and challenging what he views as corporate influence in the Democratic Party.
